What is Jemple Gold?
Its our site currency. Doing stuff onsite, such as posting blogs and comments, earns you a point each time.
What can I do with my Jemple Gold?
You can use it to buy virtual gifts to send to your friends on the site. You can also cash them in for REAL cd's, dvd's and Games (PC, xbox etc).
Do I get Gold for referrring people?
Yes you do. On your 'my account' page is your own unique referral link. You can use that to refer people to the site and earn 50 points for each person.
How do I use my referral link?
Simply copy and paste it anywhere you want and encourage people to click on it and sign-up to Jemple. Some ideas for places to use your referral code include, your myspace, bebo and facebook profiles. You can also message all your mates on those sites in one go with your link pasted into the email. Other ideas include, forum signatures, profile pages on any site you have a profile on, email your friends using the 'invite friends' link in your Jemple account, submit banners to banner exchanges with your referral link. DO NOT spam people with unsolicited mail however. If someone complains you might be banned and lose your points!
Is your Browser Toolbar safe to use?
Our downloadable browser toolbar, the J-Bar is totally safe to download. Build on the same architecture as the googlew and Yahoo toolbars, it is safe to use and contains the same level of customization and features. It also block pop-ups and has one-click history deletion. Our toolbar, unlike google and yahoo, does NOT track your web usage and we retain no stats at all. So its totally safe to use and you are always in touch with the site as important announcements are posted as RSS alerts in the toolbar.
What is a STAR member?
STAR membership is our premium membership level. For a one-off low payment you get extra account features and higher limits on sending/receiving messages and uploading. We strongly recommend a STAR upgrade because, one it helps to fund the site so we can develop it further, two it is great value and gives you extra stuff and privileges. As we add new features STAR members will get more benefits, but obviously the price will rise as the benefits rise, so getting in early while it is a low price will mean your STAR membership will be upgraded free each time we add new STAR features - so its an investment that will grow as the site grows.
Who are Jemple?
Jemple started out as wedbedordead.com a ratings site using our unique wed bed dead ratings game. We got feedback and decided to act on it, by turning the site into a fully-fledged social network with all the features of facebook, bebo etc. Jemple is a legitimate company registered in the UK as a Ltd company (A LLC in the United States). We are here to stay and we want you all along for the journey as the site grows and develops.
What are your plans?
We obviously cannot reveal all our plans, that would be mad! However, we are aiming to continually develop the site as we get more members. We plan to release features as we hit membership levels. Our next big release will be Forums and Group & Event creation, which will pull us into line with the big boys in terms of those features. We are also working to make the Snog, Marry, Avoid game truly interactive - that work is happening now and it is FUN so watch out for that release!
What makes you guys different?
Any social network claiming to be different in terms of site functionality is telling you fibs! They all do roughly the same thing. What makes them different is their members and how the site owners interact with them. Facebook, bebo and myspace have become faceless mincing machines, purely there to stuff adverts down your throat as often as possible to make cash out of you! What makes us different is that we are listening to ideas to make the site work the way you want. We also reward loyalty by offering you the chance to get CD's, Games and DVD's in exchange for your loyalty to the site. We also have the Snog, Marry, Avoid game which is a unique and fun way for our members to interact. Our site is your site.
